1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you use a web application. Under EU rules on electronic privacy (the ePrivacy Directive), "cookies and similar technologies" includes other local storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage. Gymony uses all three to provide, secure, and improve the Service.

localStorage stores data on your device that persists across browser sessions until explicitly cleared. Gymony uses localStorage for functional purposes described in Section 2.

sessionStorage stores temporary navigation state that is automatically cleared when you close the browser tab. Gymony uses sessionStorage for short-lived UI state such as resuming an interrupted subscription flow or preserving exercise filter choices within a single browsing session.

2. Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary

These items are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

  • Session authentication token - keeps you logged in during your session or for up to 30 days if you choose to stay signed in
  • Cookie consent preference - remembers your consent choices until you change your preferences

Session storage is used for temporary navigation state such as filter selections and confirmation flags. This data is cleared automatically when you close the tab.

Functional

These items remember your preferences and save your progress to improve your experience. They are enabled by default and do not require consent as they are necessary to deliver features you actively use.

  • Your cookie consent choices are saved so we do not ask again on return visits
  • Workout preferences such as your rest timer setting are remembered between sessions
  • Your in-progress workout is saved locally so you can resume if you close the app mid-session
  • Your onboarding tour progress is saved so completed steps are not repeated
  • If you sign out, this makes sure you are signed out in all open browser tabs, not just the current one

None of these items are used for tracking or advertising purposes.

Analytics

Analytics cookies are disabled by default and only activated after you give explicit consent. We use PostHog for analytics, hosted in the EU. Analytics cookies are only set after you give explicit consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Stripe: When you click to subscribe, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies on that page for fraud prevention and session continuity. No Stripe cookies are set on the gymony.app domain. These are governed by Stripe's cookie policy (stripe.com).

Google: If you use Sign in with Google, you are redirected to Google's authentication service. Google sets its own cookies on that service as part of the sign-in process. No Google cookies are set on the gymony.app domain. These are governed by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Sentry: We use Sentry (sentry.io) for error monitoring and application stability. Sentry may collect technical data including device information, browser type, and error traces when the application encounters an error. Sentry does not receive your personal fitness data, training plans, or workout logs. Sentry is hosted in the United States and processes data under Standard Contractual Clauses. You can review Sentry's privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.

4. Managing Cookies

Cookie banner: On your first visit you can accept all cookies or manage your preferences. You can change your choices at any time - including your analytics preference - via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

Browser settings: You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent Gymony from functioning correctly.

5. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes via the cookie banner or in-app notice. We will notify you by email or via the cookie banner at least 30 days before material changes take effect.
